Another day, another drive to sunny South Dakota. The fun thing about this trip is that our DRA Hotshots driver had a chance to stop by Minnesota’s Largest Candy Store on her way back to town. Located in Jordan Minnesota, this can’t-miss attraction on the side of the highway gives new meaning to that kid-in-a-candy-store feeling. Also boasting as having the world’s largest selection of soda and the biggest puzzle store ever, this place goes way beyond the nostalgic candy stores of yesteryear.
“I loved seeing all the treats I remember as a child. The store was also packed with every type of candy you can imagine, from organic and sugar free to chocolate, fudge and taffy,” said the driver.
Taking advantage of apple season, the candy store also has a bakery that fills the building with the aroma of fresh apple pies. “I brought home a pie and it is the best I have ever had!”
For those who crave salt instead of sugar, be sure to browse the amazing selection of cheese curds, jerky and chips. Sodas of every kind are available to drink on the spot or take for the car ride home.
We can hardly stop writing without mentioning the puzzles. Whether you are an expert puzzle player or a beginner, there are puzzles to please everyone. This jam-packed candy store keeps many puzzles in plastic shelves on the ceiling, so visitors can simply look up to check out the selection. There are also pull-out drawers with puzzles, located adjacent to the Bacon Shoppe. For bacon lovers only!
Minnesota’s Largest Candy Store closes for the season the Sunday after Thanksgiving, so you may want to make a visit this month. Otherwise, Minnesota’s Largest Candy Store re-opens in spring. But why wait?
